About me

Hi, I’m Melynn — a senior journalism student at the University of Texas at Austin who loves uncovering overlooked stories and shaping them into something people actually want to pay attention to. I’m drawn to work that blends creativity with purpose, whether that’s producing a podcast, designing campaign assets, or building content that helps audiences feel more connected to the world around them.

For the past few years, I’ve worked with the Public Information and Marketing team at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, where I’ve written press releases, produced digital ads, created social content, and supported a wide range of communications projects. That experience tightened my writing, trained my creative muscles, and taught me the value of collaborating across teams to make strong work even stronger.

I’ve balanced two jobs and full-time classes throughout my college career, so you can bet that my time-management skills are solid. I’ve learned to adapt fast, and now I genuinely welcome new challenges because they help me grow and break out of my usual routine. We’re living in a media world — and I’m a media girl. I’m excited to keep growing in storytelling and production, especially on projects that cut through the noise and actually matter.

Extra, extra!

When I’m not working or in class, I’m probably at Muay Thai training — picture kickboxing, but with elbows and knees. It keeps me centered, humble and constantly improving — both physically and mentally. My passion for it has grown in tandem with my love of running and lifting, and I’m now preparing for a fight this fall. Martial arts challenges me in all the best ways, and the community around it has given me joy I wouldn’t trade for anything.
